Connie Vander Weele

Connie BioA long time competitor, Connie has been a professional trainer and instructor in Dressage (Bronze Medalist in 2008) for 12 years and with Hunter/Jumpers for over 30 years. She specializes in classical training techniques and has studied under well known clinicians including Mette Rozencrantz, Christine Traurig, Patti becker, Jan Bron, and Ulla Salzgeber.

Connie currently serves as an IDTCA Board member and competes with her Danish warmblood, Dalisco K. as well as with client’s horses. Her students have placed well in various IDTCA and USDF competitions.

A life-long rider, Connie built, owned, and managed a 57-stall Dressage and Hunter/Jumper barn in northeast Illinois for 16 years. She believes that a sound foundation in basic Dressage training is vital for maximum performance in all riding disciplines, including Hunter/Jumper and Combined Training.

In addition to her many years of experience with both Dressage and Hunters, Connie was a full-time public school teacher for 25 years and holds a Master’s Degree from Northwestern University. With this depth of experience, Connie is in a unique position to offer personalized training and instruction and is well known for her work with young horses and beginning riders.
